Signed total investment intents
of INR 386 Crore in Electronics and Food Processing sectors paving path for ~2,800
new employment opportunities in the State

Government of Chhattisgarh has signed 4 MoUs today
which would bring in an investment of INR 386Cr across electronics and food
processing sectors. This investment would create over 2,800 employment
opportunities in the State and would give new employment avenues to the local
youth.
‘Make in India’ has been key catalyst for attracting new investments in
the State. Government of Chhattisgarh has taken focused approach which includes
ease of doing business, development of world class industrial infrastructure
and enacting business friendly policies to facilitate business and investment
in the State. Chhattisgarh has always been one of the preferred states in the
country for business and investment but so far most of the investments have
been made in core sectors like mining, steel, aluminium, cement etc. Chhattisgarh
has a huge potential for non-core sectors like electronics, food processing,
engineering, solar equipment etc. which are to being promoted as strategic
sectors in the State.New sectors like electronics have got new boost with
approval of Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in Naya Raipur. Government
of Chhattisgarh also had recently launched Sanchar KrantiYojana (SKY) in which
45 lakhs smart phones will be distributed to youth and women in the State. Under
SKY 1700 mobile towers will also be set up for providing mobile connectivity to
all parts in the State.
MoUs with Smartron India Pvt. Ltd., Forstar Techno Solutions Pvt. Ltd.,
Wattson Electronics have been inked by the Government of Chhattisgarh for
investment in electronics sector. These companies will establish manufacturing
units in EMC, Naya Raipur and will bring cumulative investments of around
286Crores in the State. These projects will employ highly qualified
professionals and highly skilled manpower in the state. The project is a
fervent endeavour to bring the enabling electronics manufacturing ecosystem in
Chhattisgarh.
Smartron
India Pvt. Ltd. will manufacture smart phones, other smart devices based on
tronX and AI powered IOT platform. The agreement will bring smart technology
and product ecosystem to help transform the technological infrastructure of the
State. Forstar Techno Solutions Pvt. Ltd. will establish assembly plant for
tablet PC, Desktop PC, Smart phone, Biometric devices, netbooks and notebooks
whereas Wattson Electronics shall manufacture consumer and Industrial
electronics products manufacturing unit in Naya Raipur.
Demonstrating
State Government’s commitment to develop food processing sector in the state,
an MoU has been signed with ArkasBiocon India Pvt. Ltd.(BEC Foods) to establish
liquid glucose and derivative manufacturing unitin Chhattisgarh and will bring
investments of 100 Cr. These MoUs have been signed in the esteemed presence of
Dr. Raman Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh; Shri N Baijendra
Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Commerce & Industries; Shri
Chhagan Lal Mundra, Chairman, CSIDC,Smt. Alarmelmangai D, Director Industries,
Department of Commerce & Industries;Shri Sunil Mishra, Managing Director,
CSIDC and Shri V K Chhablani, Special Secretary, Department of Commerce &
Industries. Shri N Baijendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of
Commerce & Industries signed the MoU on behalf of Government of
Chhattisgarh while Mr. Mahesh Lingareddy, Chairman, Smartron; Shri K P Roy,
Whole Time Director, Forstar; Shri VikramDewangan, CEO, Wattson Electronics and
Shri Arvind Jain, Director, ArkasBiocon Pvt. Ltd.have signed the MoUs on behalf
of their firms.
Chief Minister highlighted that Chhattisgarh SKY scheme has given a big
boost and created huge opportunity in electronic manufacturing in the State.
Also, Dr. Singh congratulated entrepreneurs for becoming a partner in the development
of electronics, food processing manufacturingin the State and expected these
units to begin their production at the earliest.
