Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to visit Chhattisgarh on July 9 to take part in GST conference

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today said traders, business institutions
and people of the state have shown positive response towards the new
tax system and have generally begun to accept the implementation of
Goods and Services Tax (GST).
The chief
minister gave the information to Mr Jaitley during a meeting with him at
Finance ministry here. The chief minister also invited the finance
minister to take part in a detailed conference and training session on
GST in Raipur on July 9, 2017. To which, the Union minister agreed to
attend the conference.
The Chief
Minister gave a detailed information to the finance minister on the
training and future plan related to GST. He said that the state
government will be organizing more than 500 workshops at development
block level in the month of July. Book keepers, accountants and
operators of common service centers will be given training about GST in
these workshops. He said chartered accountants, business unions, tax
consultants will also be a part of this workshop.
The chief
minister informed the finance minister that 92 per cent of the total
registered businessmen in the state have already registered under GST.
Most of them have been given information regarding provisions of GST. He
added that GST Act and rules in simple language have also been made
available to the public through brochures, pamphlets, PPT, FAQ, Twitter,
Facebook and various other means. A system is being developed to solve
the problems and queries of businessmen.
