The Chhattisgarh Medical and Family Welfare Department recently bagged the National Award for minimum expenditure on maternal deliveries in State Government hospitals across the State. The Third Prize has been distributed by Lok Sabha Speaker Ms. Sumitra Mahajan to Director of National Health Mission Services Mr. R. Prasanna at the Fourth National Conference ( Fourth Summit on Good Practices in Public Health Care System in India) at Indore recently. Health Minister Mr. Ajay Chandrakar was handed over the award and shield by the Department officials at his official residence today. Health Department Principal Secretary Mr. Subrath Sahu, Director of Health Services Mrs. Ranu Sahu and several top officials of the department were also present.
The officials said that the State Government hospitals provide free maternity deliveries, free treatment, medicines, free transportation from residence to hospital and back, free meals and medicines. Apart from this, National Health Insurance Scheme and Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme helped in inculcating faith and confidence among the general public and patients.
