Raipur, 24 June 2017 

The State Government implemented weather based Crop Insurance scheme for seven horticulture crops in the current Kharif season. The crops are-tomato, brinjal, amrud, Banana, Papaya, Chilly and Ginger-. Non-loanee farmers can voluntarily cover themselves under the insurance scheme. Aadhaar card is mandatory for this purpose. A circular had been issued from the Directorate of Horticulture Naya Raipur to this effect.

The Department officials said they can avail of the facility at the Common Service Centre. The approved Insurance companies are -Bajaj Alliance General Insurance  Company before 31 July. It covers less temperature, excess temperature, unseasonal rains, air speed, diseases.
