Chief
Minister Dr Raman Singh today presided over the cabinet meeting in
Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan). In the meeting, cabinet has decided to
give a major relief to industries of the state. Energy Department
Officials informed that as per this important decision, consumers of
HV-4 division receiving electricity supply from Chhattisgarh State Power
Distribution Company Limited will be given concession of Rs 1.40 per
unit in energy charge from 1 April 2017 to 30 September 2017. Under this
relief package, State Government will provide subsidy of nearly Rs 282
crore. Today in the cabinet meeting held today, Cabinet decided to
provide this major relief in electricity cess to industries from 1 April
2017 to 30 September 2017. In the same sequence, Mini Steel Plants,
Steel Industry, Rice/Pulse Mills etc will be provided 3% concession in
electricity cess. Major concession in energy charges will also be
provided on auxiliary consumption and electricity produced by Captive
Power Plants established by Steel Industries, in case they use it in
their own units. Besides, the mega steel industries with annual capacity
of more than two million ton, using the electricity produced by their
own captive power plant will also be provided concession of 3%.
