The
Agriculture Department Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Ajay Singh today
reviewed the facilities and preparations for seeds' distribution and
Kharif crops' across the State at Mantralaya ( Mahanadi Bhawan). The
officials informed that the target for sowing is 48 lakh hectare of land
during the current Kharif season. The sowing had been completed in 11
lakh 63 thousand hectare till now. Seven lakh seven thousand 621
quintal seed had been stored in the godowns. The officials said that
adequate rains had fallen in Chhattisgarh. Sowing of seeds is being done
on a war-footing. There is sufficient seeds-fertilizer in all the
districts of the State. Farmers are allotted seeds manures as per their
demands and requirements. The meeting also reviewed the Prime Minister
Crops Insurance Scheme. An amount of Rs 126 crore 16 lakh had been
distributed as Crop Insurance during the Kharif year 2016-2017.
The officials said that Aaadhaar card is mandatory for the Kharif Crops 2017 for the insurance scheme.
