Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that the flames of education will extinguish Left-Wing Extremism soon. He said that the State Government is giving a fitting reply to Naxalites and terrorists' violence by providing education and health facilities in remote parts of the State. Bastar cannot be made hostage to Left -Wing Extremist violence anymore. Nobody has any right to destroy schools or hospitals. There is an increase in awareness with the spread of education in these parts of State. Dr. Raman Singh was speaking at a felicitation ceremony of 54 Prayas Schools children who were selected in various prestigious I.I.Ts and N.I.Ts at his official residence last night.
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that about seven thousand students from the Naxalites' affected districts are studying in Education City in Dantewada and Sukma districts. Prayas Boarding Schools are functioning in far-flung areas of all the five Divisional headquarters under the Mukyamantri Baal Bhavishya Suraksha Yojana. The results are very encouraging. The selection of 54 students of Prayas Schools in prestigious Engineering colleges of India is a proud moment for the entire State. He congratulated the teachers, parents and the officials for producing such a sterling result. Students have immense confidence in their abilities which resulted in their selection.
Dr. Raman Singh revealed that the seats in the Capital-based Prayas Boarding School will be doubled soon. The seats available will be 500 in Raipur. Chief Minister said that the students selected in the Engineering Colleges will be given financial assistance of Rs 40 thousand each year for the fees and mess charges by the State Government. He also sanctioned Prayas School at Korba district head-quarter. Dr. Raman Singh said that coaching facilities are provided for various competitive examinations including J.E.E. at Jashpur district. The authorities will provide all assistance for starting institutes at these remote places.
The aim of the State Government is the State should have Super- 36 institutes similarly to the Super 30 institute based at Patna. Chief Minister further said that Prayas Boarding Schools had been launched in the year 2010 in Raipur. The schools are functioning in all the five Divisional headquarter. He expressed his deep satisfaction over the results of the schools. Innumerable number of students had been selected in several top Engineering colleges all over the country. Dr. Raman Singh revealed that he had struggled a lot in his childhood. The results reveal the self-confidence of students and the blessings of parents and teachers. He cautioned them to work hard in coming days also. Entire world opens its doors for the successful candidates of I.I.T. and N.I.T.
School Education Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister for the continuous success of the Prayas Schools' students in the 12th Board Examinations and all India competitive tests. Dr. Raman Singh inspired the department to start schools for poor students. Education City at Sukma and Jawanga (Dantewada) are role models. Girls' hostel had been started at Durg. There is an increase in girls' enrolment from earlier 60 per cent to 97 per cent due to Saraswati Cycle Project. Drop-outs are negligible and falling steeply. Mr. Kashyap blessed the students for a bright future. Agriculture Minister Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal, Chief Secretary Mr. Vivek Dhand Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Ambesh Jaangde and Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subodh Kumar Singh were also present .
