(Kolkata) based British Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Bruce Bucknell
today paid courtesy call on Chief Minister. Chief Minister accorded him
warm welcome. Chief Minister told him that Chhattisgarh has immense
potential for capital investment in business and industries. If British
entrepreneurs and companies are willing to invest in Chhattisgarh, they
are most welcome. Chief Minister discussed with Mr. Bucknell in detail
about possibilities in various sectors. Mr. Bucknell praised
Chhattisgarh for its accelerated development and discussed the scope in
industries and commerce of Chhattisgarh with keen interest.
Chief
Minister informed him that Chhattisgarh is rich in natural resources,
surplus electricity, skilled manpower and peaceful industrial
environment. State Government's new industrial policy is also focused on
promoting industries. Chhattisgarh ranks fourth in Ease of Doing
Business. Chief Minister informed that State Government is promoting the
industries of downstream. Core sector is on the verge of saturation. He
informed that Chhattisgarh is surrounded by seven states, and it has
good road and air connectivity with metro cities.
