About 52
thousand 937 candidates were awarded degrees at the Pandit Ravi Shankar
Shukla University 23 rd Convocation function here today. Chancellor of
Universities Governor Mr. Balramji Das Tandon presided over the
Convocation. The students were awarded degrees in various disciplines.
Reputed Zoological scientist Padma Bhushan awardee Professor Ashish
Dutta gave the Convocation address. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and
Higher Education Minister Mr. Premprakash Pande also addressed the
gathering. Agriculture Minister Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal and M.P. Mr.
Ramesh Bais were also present. Vice-Chancellor Professor S. K. Pande
welcomed the gathering. Governor Mr. Balramji Das Tandon addressed the
guests. Professor Ashish Dutta was awarded Doctor of Science (D.Sc) .
About 120 students will be awarded PhD soon. Sixty-six students were
awarded Gold Medals.
