In-Charge Chief Secretary Mr. Ajay Singh today reviewed the
preparations for prevention and control of seasonal diseases, in a meeting held
at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan), wherein senior officials of various
departments were present. In the meeting, He directed the officials of Health
Department, PHE Department, Forest, Panchayat and Rural Development Department,
School Education, Home, Women and Child Development Departments, Urban
Administration and Revenue Departments to work with mutual coordination to make
proper arrangements before rainy season for prevention of water-borne diseases
such as dysentery, diarrhea, jaundice, malaria, dengue etc. He also gave
instructions for stocking up medicine in sufficient quantities, storage of
medicine in advance in remote villages before rainy season, to maintain
cleanliness around hand-pumps, spraying of pesticides and regular chlorination
of public water tanks and tanks of Nal-Jal Yojana.
In
the meeting, Health Department Secretary Mr. Anil Kumar Sahu in his
presentation informed about the preparations being done for prevention of
seasonal diseases. Mr. Sahu informed that combat team has been constituted at
state-level, which includes expert physicians of State IDSP unit and Medical
College Raipur. At district-level, teams of doctors have been formed under the
leadership of Collectors. In the remote areas, medicines for cure of seasonal
diseases has been stocked up in aanganbadi centres, joint forest management
committees, schools, paramilitary forces, police stations and panchayats. Toll-free
number 104 for medical counseling is being publicized at village-level.
Principle Secretary Revenue Mrs. Renu Pillai, Secretary School Education Mr.
Vikassheel, Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Mr. PC Mishra, Secretary
PHE Ms Shahla Nigar, Secretary Forest Mr. Atul Shukla and other officials were
also present in the meeting.
