New I.T.Is will be opened like Kendriya Vidyalaya : Rajiv Pratap Rudy : Union Minister appreciates Skills' Development of State Government

                                    Branding of institutes in entire country soon

 Union Skills' Development Minister Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy today said that Industrial Training Institutes (I.T.Is) will be opened on the lines of Kendriya Vidyalayas (K.Vs). Mr. Rudy was reviewing the functioning of State Skills' Development Department along with Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh. The Union Minister revealed that the authorities had decided to brand I.T.Is. The main aim is to popularize the institutes. For the first time in 68 years Logo had been made for ITIs.
The Union Minister appreciated the steps taken to improve the skills of youth. He said that Chhattisgarh is the first State in the country which gave the Right for Skills' Development to the citizens in the age-group of 14 years-45 years in the year 2013. The State Government had allocated Rs 400 crore funds for Skills Development Training programmes in the year 2015-2016. State Skills Development Minister Mr. Premprakash Pande, Chief Secretary Mr. Vivek Dhand and several senior officers were also present.
Mr. Rudy said that there are about 13 thousand ITIs in the entire country out of which 3 thousand are Government institutes. Efforts are being made to categorize the institutes on the basis of their quality. The examinations are being held Online and the results are declared instantly. He expressed his satisfaction that Dr. Raman Singh's Government had opened the institutes in all the development blocks in Chhattisgarh. There are 172 State Government institutes and 101 private institutes.  There are only four development blocks where there are no ITIs in the State.
The Union Minister appreciated that the Prime Minister Skills Development  Programme and Chief Minister Skills Development  programmes are being implemented efficiently in Adivasi-dominated Jashpur district's- Manora, Dhuldhula, Surguja district's -Batoli and Narayanpur district's Orchha. Youth are being trained in vocational courses in 27 Livelihood Colleges of the State. In a detailed presentation the Department officials said that there are 2646 registered institutes giving vocational training in several trades. About 1800 are functioning.  One lakh youth had been trained in various vocations in the year 2016-2017. Three lakh 57 thousand youth had been trained in various courses till date. About 1781 widows and destitute women and 71 transgenders had been provided with vocational training in various trades. The courses include computer hardware, masonry, nursing, garments making, beauty parlor, agriculture, automotive repairing plastic engineering and many others. Mr. Rudi assured Dr. Raman Singh that the number of trades will be increased in ITIs in Chhattisgarh soon.
