Chief Minister extends greetings to people on International Yoga Day : Appeals people to take part in group yoga programmes

Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr Raman Singh has extended hearty wishes to people of the state on the third International Yoda Day to be organized on June 21. Dr Singh said- This year we are aiming to associate minimum 50,000 people with the group yoga practice in all the districts of Chhattisgarh. 
Dr Singh said in his message on the eve of Yoga Day that Yoga is the ancient tradition of India for betterment of human health. Dr Raman Singh said- it is a matter of pride for all of us that this ancient tradition of India has been recognized and respected at international-level, credit for which goes to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, on whose special initiative United Nations Organization (UNO) decided to observe June 21 as the International Yoga Day.
Prime Minister Mr. Modi, in his address to United Nations Assembly on September 27, 2014, had call for observing Yoga day at international-level. Later, within short span of three months, 194 member nations of the UN Assembly approved of this proposal with majority on December 11, 2014. Dr Raman Singh said- yoga is beneficial for physical and mental health of people. It is an important part of our Indian culture and tradition.
