Chief Minister does Bhumi-pujan of seven roads worth nearly 468 crore in Rajnandgaon district
LPG connection to 91 thousand women in Rajnandgaon district under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana
Farmers provided crop insurance claim of Rs 230 crore
Prime Minister Housing Scheme : Thirty Thousand houses sanctioned

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today did bhumi-pujan and laid foundation of seven roads worth nearly Rs 468.73 crore in two different programmes organized in Rajnandgaon district. These roads are of total 159-km. In the programme organized in village Thelkadih of Khairagarh block, Dr Singh inaugurated three roads of nearly 55-km worth Rs 174 crore 35 lakh. In the programme held at village Bamhanicharabhata of Chhuria block, Dr Singh did bhumi pujan of four roads of 104 km worth nearly Rs 294.38 crore. These roads will be constructed by PWD and Chhattisgarh Road Development Corporation. This includes road construction works aided by Asian Development Bank as well. On the occasion, PWD Minister Mr. Rajesh Moonat, MP of Rajnandgaon Mr. Abhishek Singh and MLA Mrs. Sarojini Banjare were also present.
In his address to the programme held at Thelkadih, Chief Minister said that a road network worth nearly Rs thirty thousand crore is being developed in Chhattisgarh. The roads inaugurated by Dr Singh in this programme includes 19.4-km long Dhara-Thelkadih Road worth nearly Rs 58.89 crore, 15.891-km long Chikhli-Padumtara worth nearly Rs 53.28 crore, and 20.019-km long GE Road-Indramara-Thelkadih Road worth nearly Rs 62.18 crore.
Dr Singh did bhumi-pujan of four roads in the programme of Bamhanai Charbhata of Chhuria block. This includes Lohara-Rengadabri-Junapani-Chowki Road (about 42 km) worth nearly Rs 119 crore 25 lakh, Chichola-Chhuria- Kallubanjari to Maharashtra border (nearly 25-km) worth Rs 61 crore 46 lakh, Chowki-Chilhati-Korachatola to Maharashtra border (22 km) worth nearly Rs 60.39 crore, and Dongargarh-Chichola Road (about 15 km) worth nearly Rs 53.28 crore.
On the occasion Chief Minister said in his address to the public that under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, many pro-poor welfare schemes have been launched, which are largely benefitting the people of Chhattisgarh as well. Under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, 91 thousand women of poor families in Rajnandgaon district have been provided LPG connection. Women beneficiaries have been provided a filled LPG cylinder, double burner stove at the nominal registration cost of Rs 200. Rs 160 of this amount is being reimbursed in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. In Rajnandgaon district only, crop insurance claim amount of nearly Rs 230 crore have been paid to the farmers under Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme. Under Prime Minister Housing Scheme, thirty thousand houses have been sanctioned in Rajnandgaon district. Chief Minister appealed people to get their smart cards issued under Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme. He said that this card will provide beneficiaries the facility to avail medical treatments worth nearly Rs 50 thousand.
