Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today presided over a Cabinet meeting in which several crucial decisions were taken at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan). The Cabinet has waived the Transit Pass for 15 species of wood (logs). They include Siris, Rimja, Rubber, Shankudhari species, Australian Babul, Kesia Saimia, Bacon, Glerisidia, Khamer, Kadam, Sissu, Kapok, Maharukh and Silver Oak. Apart from this waiver bamboo (Baans) from Surguja, Jashpur, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Dhamtari, Kawardha and Mahasamund will not require Transit Pass.
No increase in sugar price
The State Cabinet decided to allocate one kilogram sugar on subsidy to all the card-holders families (58, 24, 676 families). Earlier the sugar allocation on subsidy was only for Antyodaya families only.
Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana at 3120 habitats
The State Government today decided to provide electricity connections to 3,120 habitats which are not included in the Central Government and State Government schemes. An amount of Rs 190 crore will be spent in providing electricity to the habitats.
General Provident Fund interest rate
The State Cabinet decided to fix 7.9 interest on the General Provident Fund from date : 01.04. 2017 to 30.06 2017.
Ministers-Parliamentary Secretaries Discretionary Fund hiked
The State Cabinet Ministers' Discretionary Funds was increased from Rs One crore to Rs 1.50 crore and Parliamentary Secretaries Fund was hiked from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 70 lakh.
'Vidhya Mitans' assistance to be taken
The Government decided to take the assistance of 'Vidhya Mitans' in Raipur Durg Bilaspur Divisions Scheduled Tribes'-dominated areas soon. During the Lok Suraj Mission it was found that there are 1882 vacancies lying in High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools in subjects like English, Mathematics, Commerce and Science groups. The vacancies are about 40 % of the total posts. The vacancies will be filled with Chhattisgarh domiciled candidates.
