Chief Minister makes surprise visit to border village Amaad : Raman Singh sanctions Rs 34 crore diversion irrigation project on Thel river

            Low-voltage power supply issue to be solved soon
40 families will be allocated houses
                     Observes two under-construction houses, visits several localities

 Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today made surprise visit to village Amaad Development block Devbhog district Gariyabandh as a part of 'Lok Suraaj' mission. He also made surprise visit to village Dhargahan Development block Charama in district North Bastar (Kanker).  He conducted 'choupal' at  village Amaadh in development block Devbhogh located on the Orissa border. He elicited opinions of the villagers gathered at the 'choupal' regarding the basic amenities available at the village.
Dr. Raman Singh sanctioned a diversion irrigation project on Thel river at a cost of Rs 34 crore on the requests of the villagers. He sanctioned Anganwadi building , school building  and five hand-pumps for drinking water purposes at village Amaadh. Chief Minister instructed the officials to install solar energy-based pumps to solve the drinking water shortage. He directed the officials to extend 124 k.v. capacity electricity line to resolve the persistent low-voltage issue at the village, allocate 40 houses to poor under the Prime Minister Housing Project, start banking facility at the village soon and a cement concrete road at Amaadh.
Chief Minister went on 'padyatra' in the various localities and observed for himself the two houses being built under the Prime Minister Housing Project. One of the beneficiaries Mrs. Prameela Digre is living in 'kuchha' house along with five of her children. She thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning a 'pucca' house for a poor woman like her. The villagers welcomed Dr. Raman Singh by applying 'tilak ' on his forehead.
Dr. Raman Singh spoke to her kids who were playing in the vicinity. He went to observe the house of 65-year-old Mrs. Punebai Yadav also. It was also sanctioned under the Prime Minister Housing Project. Mrs. Yadav is at present living in a 'kuchha' house along with her children. She expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister. A widow Mrs. Phoolmati Bhagirathi also met Chief Minister and requested him to sanction a house. Dr. Raman Singh immediately instructed the Collector to sanction a house to her.
